The Silver Method
Now, what is The Silver Method?
The Silver Method is an approach to physical training that encompasses and addresses all forms of physicality from strength and mobility, to speed and endurance.
The Silver Method is inspired by what Ido Portal calls The T-Shirt Effect. The T-Shirt Effect is the idea that if you pursue one goal to its Gold Standard, that you will lose out on physical skills and attributes elsewhere.
An example of this is commonly seen with powerlifters and squatting.
With the specified goal of having the heaviest squat possible, they often focus purely on strength developments to achieve the Gold Standard in one realm of their physicality, often at the expense of other physical realms, most notably their mobility.
This ironically causes them to lose the functionality of their hips, relegating their mobility down to a Bronze Standard.
Unfortunately, unless you are an actual athlete with the entirety of the day to dedicate to your physicality, going for Gold can often leave you in Last Place in overall health.
Therefore, when programming for myself and my clients, I always attempt to strive for the Silver Standard, but in every realm.
With the right approach to training, I believe it is absolutely possible to achieve the Silver Standard of health in every domain of physicality.
